Q and A’s
How big is the pool?
The indoor heated pool is 11 feet wide by 18 feet long, and the water level is 48" deep. It has a swim current system with adjustable speeds. Your dog can swim with or without the swim current.
What if my dog can’t swim?
Dogs that are uncomfortable in the water will wear a swim vest. In our experience most dogs enjoy swimming once they have gained confidence.
Is there somebody in the pool with my dog?
Yes. Your dog will be with an experienced Small Animal Massage Practitioner or swim assistant.
How is the pool kept clean and safe?
Our pool is cleaned between every dog and it is monitored regularly throughout the day for the correct chemical balance.
Do you use chlorine in the water?
Our sanitizing system works mainly with minerals, therefore needing the smallest amount of bromine to destroy bacteria and other organisms.
Can I swim with my dog?
No. We do not allow you to swim with your dog, as you could get injured by the dog while in the water.
How does my dog get in the pool?
Your dog will be fitted with a swim vest and guided down a ramp into the water, while being supported by the Small Animal Massage Practitioner or swim assistant.
Will you supply towels to dry my dog after being in the water?
Please bring your own towels.
Is there a shower available to rinse my dog?
Yes, for rinsing only. If you wish to bathe your dog there will be an additional charge.
How would I choose between the pool and the treadmill?
They both have different benefits, but all dogs can benefit from either the pool or treadmill. The treadmill can sometimes be a more secure environment for the dog, as they keep their feet on the ground and the exercise is more controlled with deliberate movements and speed. In the pool, the dog can swim freely and/or be supported by the Small Animal Massage Practitioner or swim assistant.
Can I be there while my dog is swimming or using the treadmill?
Yes. You can be right there throughout if you wish, to comfort and encourage your dog.
What is an underwater treadmill?
The underwater treadmill tank is made of stainless steel frame and has tempered glass panels on all four sides so the dog doesn’t feel confined. It measures 73” long, 33” wide and 47” high and has a water capacity of 425 gallons. The treadmill is on the floor of the tank and is powered by a hydraulic power unit. The weight capacity is 200 lbs.
How does the treadmill work?

The treadmill tank slowly fills with water from the bottom. The water level varies with each dog based on the dog’s size and what you are trying to achieve

Once the water is at the desired level, the treadmill is activated. Its speed varies from .5 to 8 mph

The water temperature is kept between 88-92 degrees depending on what you are trying to achieve

When the session is finished, the water drains and the dog exits

To prevent chills, please bring towels to dry your dog
